The GIS Technician, under the general direction of the Manager Corporate Information, will be responsible for creating, verifying, and updating spatial and tabular GIS (geographic information systems) data for all corporate municipal departments. The Technician will develop queries, perform analysis and data joins, produce hard copy maps, web map applications, story maps and dashboards using the ESRI ArcGIS suite of software to meet needs of staff, council, and the public. The Technician will also create and maintain documentation on GIS spatial and tabular datasets, processes, procedures, and training material. They will also assist with the administration of the 911 civic addressing program to review new civic addressing and road name needs during development approvals.

The ideal candidate will hold a diploma or degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Computer, Environmental Science or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of GIS experience including experience with geospatial technology tools and methods, geographic concepts, cartographic principles and data models. Hands on experience and training with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online suite of tools, such as ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, Story Maps, Dashboards, Web Map Applications is an asset. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of personality types coupled with a strong political acuity is required. Expertise and excellence in both written and verbal communication are also required. The successful applicant must also be proficient in the use of MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams and SharePoint, and able to learn the use of additional software applications in-use by the Town. A valid G-class driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is also required. Periodic travel is required between Huntsville and Dwight office locations.

Our Water Services Department is seeking a *Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer (Geomatics) who will manage the Metro Vancouver Regional Geo-Spatial Reference (RGSR) infrastructure in partnership with local governments and the provincial government. The RGSR infrastructure includes a High Precision Network of Geodetic Control Monuments and Active Control Points, offering both post-mission and real-time Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) services to users in the region. Regional users rely on an accurate and consistent survey control foundation for various municipal capital works, asset inventories, infrastructure planning and design, and operations.

You are: a seasoned geomatics professional who is well versed with GNSS and other surveying tools, methods and specifications. You have significant experience in control surveys and large network least squares adjustments, high precision GNSS and deformation surveys and data processing and analyses, and keep up with the fast moving trends in technology affecting geomatics and its uses. You have considerable experience in program and project management, managing stakeholders and clients, working with/within large organizations and teams, being organized and able to meet multiple demands for services, employing best practices, applying good judgement, problem-solving, effective planning and reporting, and are a self-starter committed to continuous learning and making a difference.

Palliser Regional Municipal Services (PRMS) is seeking a qualified Geographical Information Systems Coordinator to join our team working out of the PRMS office in Hanna, AB. The GIS Coordinator is responsible for delivering diverse GIS services with a focus on standardization, empowering staff, and advancing regional initiatives. This role involves training municipal personnel, developing GIS tools for the PRMS webmap and managing data related to the webmap (civic addressing, infrastructure, and planning). The position is well-suited for candidates with a background in GIS technologies, field data collection, or maintenance of infrastructure with a strong emphasis on record-keeping. The primary duties for this role are:
